Stan and Ollie – 19th September

Thursday 19th September 7.30 p.m. – ‘Stan and Ollie’ (cert. 12A)

With convincingly real performances by Steve Coogan and John C. Reilly, ‘Stan and Ollie’ is the heart-warming story of what would become the pair’s triumphant farewell tour. With their golden era long behind them, the pair embark on a variety hall tour of Britain and Ireland. We get to see behind the scene glimpses of life on the road in post-war Britain and how the hectic schedule starts to take it’s toll on the pair and the show. But with the arrival of their wives – an interesting double act in their own right – the pair’s love of performing, as well as for each other, eventually rescues what initially looks like being a disastrous flop.
